TITLE:   Pipiwai Trail, Hana
DESCRIPTION:   On Maui's western slope near Hana, this bamboo forest thrives as part of Kipahulu, a section of Haleakala National Park. The upper reaches of this forest receive up to 250 inches a year, so be watchful for flashfloods and slippery rocks. Mosquito repellant is a must, as well. You'll be rewarded at the end of the trail with Waimoku Falls, well worth the two-plus-mile hike.
